Your hair grows on average at a rate of about one and a half centimeters per month. And some people are lucky enough to be born with genes that make their hair grow even faster. But for most of us, long, healthy and shiny hair takes a lot of time and effort.
Products that are sold as products that can make your hair grow super fast are fake. What you really need to do is take care of your hair and eat a healthy diet so that your hair grows at its best. And here are some tips on how to do it:
Take good care of your wet hair
Your hair is more brittle when it’s wet. It’s best to avoid brushing them before they dry, but if you must, use a wide-toothed comb and start at the ends, working from bottom to top along the length. Blow dry your hair only when necessary and NEVER use a flat iron or curling iron while it is still damp.
Trim your split ends trim your split ends regularly
Trimming your split ends frequently will help prevent breakage, which can make your hair appear thinner. If you trim yourself, use only scissors designed for cutting hair, others can easily damage the hair and lead to even more split ends.
Cover your hair in cold and windy weather
Your hair doesn’t like temperature extremes, and the cold impairs blood circulation, so put on an appropriate hat before going outside when it’s cold and windy. Make sure that the entire scalp and hair is covered along its entire length.
Don’t shampoo your hair daily
You certainly want to keep your hair and scalp clean, but you’re not doing yourself any favors by shampooing your hair every day. Many people with oily hair shampoo daily, but shampooing removes the natural protective layer from the scalp, stimulating the sebaceous (oily) glands to produce even more sebum, which in turn affects the oiliness of the hair. If you have oily hair, wash it with shampoo every other day.
Drink water
To keep your hair healthy and help it grow well, drink enough water every day. Tea and coffee have a diuretic effect, but they still count towards your daily fluid intake. Just make sure you also drink enough plain water.
Eat plenty of protein
The importance of this nutrient for healthy hair growth cannot be overstated. Protein-rich foods are milk, yogurt, beans, lentils, peas, and cereals, including buckwheat. Lack of protein in your diet can lead to hair loss, so make sure you get enough of this nutrient daily.
Get enough healthy fats, vitamins and minerals
Vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids are all vital to keeping your hair healthy. Incorporate nuts (like walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds), fruits and berries (including avocados, citrus fruits, and blueberries), and leafy greens into your diet—they’re not just good for your hair, but for your entire body.
Try an olive oil hair mask
Masks made with olive oil as an ingredient can help prevent split ends and make your hair softer and shinier. You can also use coconut oil and linseed oil for your hair. But one of the best oils for hair care is argan – try it, you will be amazed at its effect.
Massage your scalp to stimulate circulation
Head massage not only relaxes but also improves blood circulation, which in turn provides your hair follicles with everything they need to grow healthy hair. You can also try the oils mentioned above for scalp massage.
Sleep and de-stress Lack of sleep and chronic stress can have a detrimental effect on your hair and even cause it to fall out. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night and try relaxation techniques or other calming activities to relieve stress.
