This makes them immune to becoming a host for bacteria and irritants. Moreover, as they are breathable, it is less likely that they will have static charge build-up.

The role of bedding in the quality of sleep is evident, but there are still several practices that you can undertake to improve your quality of sleep and overall sleep hygiene.

Here are some ways you can start working on your sleep hygiene:

  1. Turn your bed into a cozy haven

The mattress, bedsheets, comforter, and pillows are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to creating a quiet and relaxing bedroom. Some ways to achieve this:

  • Keep only as many pillows as you will be able to use. Placing too many pillows can make finding a comfortable position when you are about to sleep challenging.
  • Associate your bed only with resting and nothing else. Avoid using your bed for eating, working, or watching television while you are on your bed.
  1. Create a spa-like ambiance

Position your bed in a quiet, relatively dark, and comfortable position. Temperature is also an important consideration to have.

  • Consider adding aromatherapy devices like an essential oil diffuser or scented candles in subtle and refreshing tones to uplift the ambiance.
  • They create a spa-like environment while making it easier for you to relax and sleep better.
  • If you have pets, consider researching which essential oils are safe for them. For instance, lavender and chamomile are safe essential oils for dogs, whereas frankincense and lemon are safe for cats. These essential oils are also safe for pets if you have birds.
  1. Choose the right lighting

Your bedroom should be meant for only one thing: rest and rejuvenate yourself. Being careful about the lighting plays a vital role in it. Here are some considerations:

  • Avoid bright lights at least two hours before you sleep. Exposure to these lights can alert your brain, making it challenging to fall asleep.
  • Make sure your room is well-lit with warm lights. These lights immediately induce a sense of calm and relaxation while being easy on the eyes.

To ensure that your luxury beddings continue to provide the same degree of comfort constantly and softness, make it a point to read and understand the washing instructions carefully. Here’s why:

  • Every fabric is different, and so is the weave; using the same cleaning methods can damage the fine threads, causing premature breaking.

  • Harsh washing cycles can thin the bedding, making it less effective in providing warmth and comfort.
